TECHNICAL SUPPORT  TRAINEE - Diesel Aftermarket Industry

Job Description

STEINBAUER Engineering is offering the opportunity to complete a 2 year traineeship in Aftermarket Technical Support. This is a new position based in our Dowagiac office and will include both on-the-job training and college classes/courses.

The position offers the successful applicant the opportunity to learn and work in a supported environment in the Aftermarket Diesel industry. The position is ideally suited to someone who has mechanical/technical understanding, above average computer skills and is looking to start a career in a support-based role rather than mechanical repair based.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Positive attitude and people skills a must

• Good mechanical aptitude and understanding

• Solid computer skills. Email programs, internal website and CRM/ERP system

• Ability to think logically and orderly

• Willing to keep an open mind and to objectively accept constructive criticism

• Good listener and able to communicate effectively with customers

• Time management and ability to prioritize tasks

• Able to adapt to changing workplace requirements and tasks

• Reliable vehicle and clean driving license

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to speak effectively with customers and/or their employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.

Full Stack Python / JavaScript Developer (M/W/D) Positions available with a start-up in one of the fastest growing industry sectors. NexOpt is a new product launched by STEINBAUER and we're looking for qualified and experienced Python programmers to start immediately at our US Office in Dowagiac, SouthWest Michigan.

 

YOUR MISSION 

You quickly understand internal und external requirements and are able to translate these to solid software concepts - You independently develop modules and services with lightweight agile processes - You work responsibly across the entire stack and develop new functionalities from start to finish with analysis, conception, implementation, tests and deployment - You extend and optimize existing Python applications.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Completed IT training at a higher technical school or university (or equivalent training)

  • Good knowledge of object-oriented programming

  • Good SQL and data modeling skills (preferably PostgreSQL)

  • First professional experience in software development is an advantage

  • First experience with object-relational programming is an advantage

  • First experience with Python and JavaScript is an advantage

  • First experience with version control systems (Git, SVN) and CI/CD processes is an advantage
